As part of a larger company leadership restructuring, Nike Inc. has announced that Jared Carver will be the next president and CEO of Converse.

Carver has been with Converse for more than 12 years at the time of his appointment, succeeding Scott Uzzell, who will move internally to Nike as VP/GM of North America. Carver’s previous roles at Converse include VP/GM, Global Digital Direct; VP of Strategy, and Director of Strategy and Business Development for Converse’s European Headquarters.

“Carver is a consumer-first leader who brings more than a decade of leadership at Converse. For the past four years, he has served as the VP/GM for Converse’s North America business, where he unlocked strong growth in the brand’s largest geography,” Nike writes in a press release.

In his new role, Carver will report directly to Nike’s president and CEO John Donahoe.

“These shifts will allow us to streamline our focus across product, brand storytelling and marketplace, mining deep consumer insights to deliver breakthrough innovation and engagement, while building long-term growth and profitability,” Donahoe said in a statement regarding the latest leadership changes.
