Dior Heads to Mexico City for Cruise 2024
Heading to the Mexican capital later this month.
Dior continues to take its show on the road, presenting its upcoming Cruise 2024 collection in Mexico City.
The news comes after Dior recently staged its Pre-Fall 2023 show in Mumbai. According to WWD, Womenswer artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri is set to continue “her tradition of collaborating with local craftspeople on the annual collection, which has the potential to significantly boost tourism revenues in its destination.”
Dior says in a statement, “Through this exciting dialogue, the creative director will highlight the artistry and some of the emblematic figures of this country that has been dear to Dior’s heart since the beginning of the house in 1947.” This is not the first time Chiuri has looked towards Mexican culture as an inspiration for her collection. Her Cruise 2019 show, which was staged in the royal stables of Domaine de Chantilly in France, featured a team of female Mexican rodeo riders. In the past Dior’s Cruise shows have landed in Seville, Spain and Athens, Greece. Previously the brand has also staged a show in Mexico in 1954.
Dior’s Cruise 2024 show arrives in Mexico City on May 20 at a currently undisclosed location.
