2023 is a year of anniversaries for BAPE as the iconic Japanese streetwear label celebrates both its 30th year in business and 20th year working with adidas. Already, the brand has issued collaborations and collections revolving around the theme. Now, two special pairs of adidas Forum 84 Lows have been assembled with a special campaign featuring NBA up-and-comer Jalen Green. Green, like many others such as Damian Lillard, cites Lil Wayne as the one to introduce him to the brand back in the ’00s and he has been a fan ever since, noting that “while I was in the G-League, I was tagging BAPE and just trying to get the brand’s attention. So, when adidas let me know they wanted me to be involved, it was such a surreal moment.”

BAPE’s presence is immediately recognized courtesy of its vibrant co-branding and iconic ABC camo spread throughout its overlays. The leather construction dons two looks in both green and blue with gold and silver accents chiming in respectively. Each pair features special 30th anniversary tongue branding next to straps that read “A BATHING APE” and glimmering “30” dubraes. When considering the two, Green shared “I like green obviously, but I feel like the blue colorway is one that you could really bust down with something.” Rounding out each look, a creamy off-white midsole rests atop a colored rubber outsole.

The BAPE x adidas Forum 84 Low “30th Anniversary” is slated to hit shelves via adidas, BAPE and select retailers worldwide on May 20.
