UPDATE: The Jumpman team has released official images of its Air Jordan 5 Low “Dongdan” colorway. The streetball tournament-inspired sneakers are prepared with a solid black nubuck upper that’s accented with dusty pink hits across the lace toggles, exposed stitches that outline its every overlay and the midsole spikes. Insoles and shoe boxes are treated with sunset-like cloud graphics for added flair. Sit tight for further word on an official launch date.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE:

Basketball is a sport that is appreciated across the globe, but few countries can compare to the level that China celebrates the game. Every year, the city of Beijing hosts a hoops competition titled the Sunset Dongdan tournament — also known as the “holy land” of streetball — and Jordan Brand enjoys taking part in the festivities by designing celebratory footwear. This year, the Jumpman team has whipped up a special Air Jordan 5 Low “Dongdan” colorway, and it has just surfaced via early imagery.

Looking at the kicks from the exterior point of view, the design is straightforward. The nubuck uppers are dyed in a solid black hue and feature exposed, contrasting white stitching that outline its various base layer panels. The traditional mid-foot netting is styled with its usual see-through build. The most compelling element of the shoes is found inside as the insoles have been printed with cotton candy clouds and a Jumpman logo. In addition, the tourney’s official logo is embroidered into the heels and the midsole spikes are brought to life with pale pink backdrops and the model’s usual speckled details.

Release information for these should be surfacing closer to the summer, but check out a first look above while you wait on their arrival.

In other news, official images of the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” have emerged.
