Update: Official Air Jordan 1 “Lucky Green” have surfaced via nike. At the time of writing, there’s still no word from Nike on a release date — and the “Lucky Green” was not included in Jordan Brand’s Spring 2023 Air Jordan collection, revealed officially in December — but if early reports stay true, the “Lucky Green” will touch down on April 15 for $170 USD. Read the original story below for more info on the colorway’s history, inspiration and differences from its original release.

Update: Following an early preview of the pair, a detailed breakdown of the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” has now been shared. A release date of April 15 remains expected, however, stay tuned for official information and imagery from Nike and check out the full story below.

Original Story: If you’ve paid attention to the evolution of Jordan Brand and its retro category, then you’ve noticed that it has a cyclical nature to it. Its expansive array of classic colorways is released over and over again to satisfy the older sneakerheads and introduce classics to newer ones. In 2023, we can expect to see MJ’s imprint bring back some gems, one being the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” that was originally launched in 2009 as part of a “DMP” Pack.

The color palette on this reissue is a nod to the Boston Celtics — one of Jordan and the Bulls’ rivals in the Jordan Brand ’90s. Its titular shade reflects the Eastern Conference squad’s main tone and comes pronounced atop the flaps, laces and lower heel overlays. The popularized “Black Toe” color blocking that features solid black Swooshes, and overlays set against angelic quarters and toe boxes is also implemented. The main difference with this forthcoming installment is that the tongue branding has been modified. Instead of Jumpman logos, the tongues are embellished with the more favored Nike Air branding.
