adidas Samba, Stan Smith and Superstar Return to the Golf Course in New Colorways
Dubbed the Icons Pack.
When it comes to golf adidas is primarily associated with performance, and the prevalence of silhouettes like the TOUR360, ZG23 and CODECHAOS on world tours is a testament to that. But the brand continues to pay attention to what’s being worn on the street and translate that to the golf course, namely with silhouettes like the Samba which surfaced in the classic white and gum arrangement last October. Now, as part of the Icons Pack, Three Stripes is delivering its beloved Samba, Stan Smith and Superstar in a cool grey and off-white colorway with key features for golfers.
Starting with the “It” sneaker of 2022, the Samba, this soccer-turned-street shoe is outfitted with a reinforced, EVA-cushioned midsole. The outsole, meanwhile, is reimagined with an adiwear pattern that mimics the classic herringbone pattern, but includes three integrated rubber spikes. Next up, the Stan Smith Golf last featured for adidas as part of a collaboration with Vice Golf, and this time has returned with a grey leather upper with perforated Three Stripes, brown heel overlays and an off-white rubber midsole. Similar to the Stan Smith, the shoe offers EVA cushioning and adiwear traction on its multi-colored outsole.
Then finally, the Superstar returns after the lengthiest absence, having last dropped in 2020. Unlike the other two shoes that make up the trio, a soft textile lines the upper and removable spikes are screwed into the bottom. Otherwise, the kicks exhibit the same pattern of a grey upper, off-white midsole and shell toe and brown for the accents.
Anyone interested in snagging a pair can find these in unisex sizing on adidas.com and at select retailers starting May 12, with each priced at $140 USD.
