Todd Snyder Crafts Sophisticated Menswear With “The Bohemian Gentleman” Collection
Inspired by American expats in Tangier during the 1950s.
Aside from his beefy catalog of footwear collaborations from New Balance to Clarks, Todd Snyder’s vision of menswear is committed to providing a taste of timeless regality. Now the American designer is adding to his repertoire with his new “The Bohemian Gentleman” collection.
As a mid-season offering for May, the collection is more restricted in its number of pieces; however, quality and craftmanship never wane. Centering a feeling of sophisticated styling, the collection gets its personality from American expats who lived in Tangier during the 1950s. To bring these narratives into the Todd Snyder world, the collection centers on texture, composition and volume with a heightened emphasis on tailoring with homespun fabrics.
Pieces like suiting, lightweight jackets, knitwear, pants and more are livened by Baird McNutt Irish Linen, Japanese rayon and Italian cotton. With tailoring continuously serving as a Snyder mainstay, the linen Madison Suit leads the charge this time around in hues of white, wheat and soft chalk blue. Aside from suiting, knitwear is another collection highlight with pieces like crocheted sweaters polos, remixed crewneck sweaters and knit button-down shirts in both solid-color hues and eye-catching retro prints.
What also makes the May offering stand out is its partnership with the Madrid-based brand Guanábana which specializes in woven accessories by Indigenous artisans in Colombia. As such, their union presented a lineup of espadrilles, sandals and beach bags.
