TOMBOGO To Release Spring 2023 "For the Traunt & the Fluent" Collection
Originally making its debut last year during NYFW.
Last September during NYFW, TOMBOGO revealed its Spring 2023 collection “For the Truant & the Fluent” via a classroom skit-tyle fashion show at LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts. Now the brand is taking the clothes out of the classroom and onto the shelves with its forthcoming release.
By taking a look at his years in high school, the brand’s founder/creative director, Tommy Bogo, updated his signature utilitarian aesthetic with a range of experimental cuts and techniques. From pocket-laden pants and button-down shirts to striped cutout knitwear, Bogo’s latest mirrors the magic of letting your inner artist come up to the surface. Aside from the aforementioned, collection highlights include shock-cord button-down shirts, a denim convertible work jacket and the knit “Freelance” basketball uniform set.
“The phrase “For the Truant & the Fluent” stems from a slogan I coined when I first started designing clothes in high school,” said Bogo. “At the time, I was balancing my academics with my newfound love for design, my involvement in the creative community, and my dream of building a brand – all of which required my full attention and proved to be fairly difficult to balance as a teenager. The phrase was reflective of this challenge.”
