Nordic Knots and Garance Vallée Reveal Collaborative Rug Capsule
Fusing Parisian avant-garde modernism and ancient Mediterranean influences.
Nordic Knots has teamed up with French multidisciplinary artist, Garance Vallée for a collaborative rug capsule.
Entitled Grand by Garance, the new collection reimagines the Stockholm-based brand’s Grand collection. Consisting of three rugs, the designs infused Parisian avant-garde modernism and ancient Mediterranean influences with totemic transformed angles and totemic cut-outs. Additionally, the capsule continues the Grand collection’s Scandinavian nature-inspired color scheme with shades of olive green, camel and off-white.
“It works like tiny architecture, almost like a small modernist house,” said Vallée. “One of the reasons we decided to shoot the collection in a very old modernist villa, Maison Louis Carré, was to represent the link between my inspiration of the modernist currents, but also having this very contemporary and 2.0 rigid angle, almost laser cut shapes.”
