Public Drip Champions the Everyday Golfer With its SS23 Collection
Designed to be worn at your local muni.
A modern sportswear brand founded in 2020, Public Drip was conceived with the devoted athlete in mind. The one who doesn’t have access to all the best private facilities. And as the Brooklyn-based outfit began to weigh up its SS23 collection, founder Neil Tan saw it fit to honor the rich history of municipal golf in New York City by taking to Van Courtlandt Park Golf Course, the oldest public golf course in the United States.
As a comprehensive, 25-piece lineup all fashioned through a cut-and-sew method, the collection represents a first for Public Drip. It’s a chance to put a stake in the ground for everything that the brand represents and to define its core ethos and aesthetic. Tan has a particular affinity for menswear, and that can be seen across the entire range. But there’s no sacrifice to be made for performance, as Public Drip wants to be known first and foremost as a sportswear brand.
This nuanced approach is demonstrated with the Public Athlete Polo which features a club collar as a nod to classic menswear as well as a rounded off, custom placket that is meant to signify the ‘P’ in the Public Drip logo. At the same time, the polo uses a mixture of polyester and elastane that provides lightness and a rich texture. Another highlight is the thin-wale corduroy short which was designed as a versatile piece to be worn during, before or after golf. There’s also a French Terry cardigan designed with five buttons making for convenient layering.
Other pieces include the likes of nylon vests, cotton hoodies, rope hats and other accessories. The full collection will be available from tomorrow, April 21 on Public Drip’s website.
