Nike Air Max 97 Futura Is Equipped With a Bulky Build

Seeing Nike release its classic silhouettes in a barrage of new colorways can become mundane, but the brand likes to keep its consumers on their toes by reinterpreting them with new aesthetics and builds. That’s the case for the Nike Air Max 97 Futura which, right off the bat, sneakerheads can identify is altered with a much more experimental and beefed-up construction.

Official images of one of its inaugural colorways have been unveiled and give us a detailed look at all of its unique parts. Starting out with the upper half, one noticeable difference here is that extra overlays have been added to its spring-friendly green upper. Extra layers are planted adjacent to the throat while the mudguards have been remixed with shaggy suede fabric. The customary oval-shaped tongue banners have been traded out for squares and come debossed with “Air Max” branding, and the collars have been suited up with beefier padding.
