The eYe Junya Watanabe MAN x New Balance Rainier Has Officially Dropped
The classic hiking shoe receives a premium makeover.
New Balance and eYe Junya Watanabe MAN have come together for a collaboratives pair of the classic hiking shoe, the New Balance Rainier.
The silhouette was first unveiled at Paris Fashion Week Men’s runway in June 2022. The shoe is meant for the everyday outdoor adventurer and is a keen reminder of the origins of the shoe. The Rainier was created by Lou Whittaker who wanted to find a comfortable alternative to the chunky hiking boot.
The collaboration sees the Rainier silhouette constructed in an upper made with premium nubuck and Cordura nylon in a sophisticated beige colorway. The shoe features adjustable lace-up fastening and accented contrast stitching. The insoles and heels are branded, while a Vibram outsole is used for added stability and comfort for the hiking shoe. The shoe is now available at DSM and is set to arrive in other select retailers and online at New Balance on April 21.
