Diablo IV players will still have more to conquer even once they wrap up their campaign. Blizzard developers have shared a new trailer explaining the endgame progression of the forthcoming title… and it seems a bit intimidating for the novice gamer.

An open beta revealed that Diablo IV only has four difficulty levels available, meaning its endgame was sure to pack a punch for those seeking a more challenging experience. Developers have surely delivered, designing a unique system that allows players to work through Capstone Dungeons once again, this time as Nightmare Dungeons.

In the endgame, Nightmare Dungeons will present harder challenges that can be completed in exchange for a currency called Nightmare Sigils. The post-campaign open world, meanwhile, will feature more powerful creatures to battle and opportunities to continuously level up skills.

Following the campaign, players will be given access to a new skill board that builds upon the Codex of Power. The Paragon system will essentially serve as a secondary skill measuring tool that allows players to custom-tailor their skills to their post-campaign exploration. The system rotates, offering new skills and stats that extend beyond the highest level achievable during the main campaign.

The trailer makes it look like a bit of a confusing system, so Diablo IV players may just have to figure it out for themselves when the game rolls out in June.
