Pop Trading Company x adidas Goes on a Skateboarding-Meets-Hiking Trip
Dropping a Campus ADV, Terrex Swift R2 GTX, and accompanying tech apparel.
Amsterdam’s Pop Trading Company is rooted in preppy skateboarding-indebted casualwear, but today it flips its image on its head with a comprehensive adidas collaboration that explores the great outdoors on foot and board.
Working with adidas’ Skateboarding label and the Terrex division, the brand presents a footwear line comprising adidas’ Campus ADV silhouette and the Terrex Swift R2 GTX, a pair fit for exploring tough conditions in the Netherlands when the skateboard no longer does the trick.
The Campus ADV arrives in “Grey Six/Active Gold/Clay Brown,” utilizing a palette informed by clean, minimalistic Netherland tones. It’s of course designed to be skated in, but also gets a tactile reworking with a ripstop upper, a wraparound heel-to-toe hot melt rubber bumper, and a suede eyestay placket for a touch of class. As for the Terrex style, a GORE-TEX membrane has been added to the exterior alongside a repeat-print “POP” logo design, sitting alongside bungee speed lacing and a Continental rubber outsole. Combined, this pair is fit to tackle any condition thrown at it, as you may expect in the nether regions.
Accompanying the sneakers is a capsule of clothing, ranging from staples like tech-informed T-shirts and thermal layers to the leading tech jacket and tech pants. Here, we find a consistent use of recycled Primegreen materials, durable water-repellent coatings, storm flaps and concealed fastenings, adidas Superlite technology (for the cap), and ergonomically designed socks that are best suited to the Terrex shoes.
Prices range from $15 USD to $180 USD, and the whole range is due to drop on February 18 via Pop Trading Company and adidas‘ respective websites and retailers. Take a closer look at the lookbook above.
