Chrome Lands on the Nike Dunk High
Combining with an icy blue translucent outsole to offer a modern flow.

Heading into 2023, there was no question as to whether or not Nike would continue to emphasize the Dunk line as a core part of its footwear releases. The series continues to sell in its many flavors and the brand has shown no sign of stopping anytime soon. However, its usage of the Dunk High silhouette remains secondary to that of the various low-top versions, and with the Dunk Mid on its way back, the High’s prominence continues to wane. Now, a chrome-equipped colorway — appearing alongside an Air Max 97 in chrome — has brought new life to the shoe.
This time around, Nike began with an all-white leather rendition of the sneaker with various elements tweaked to create a contemporary colorway for the old-school silhouette. The midfoot panel and a portion of the heel were upgraded with a chrome finish that matches the Nike branding on the black tongue. Black also appears at the laces and lining to further differentiate its color composition. Supporting the look, a silver stitched midsole rests atop an icy blue translucent outsole.
As of now, no release information for this chrome take on the Nike Dunk High has been revealed. However, it’s currently expected to be available this spring via the Swoosh and select retailers worldwide.
In case you missed it, a similar shine is found on Ja Morant’s Nike Ja 1 “Midnight” as it carries Swarovski crystals throughout its all-black colorway.
