G-SHOCK Readies a Duo of 40th Anniversary GCW-B5000UN Carbon Edition Watches
Arriving in two Milky Way-inspired colorways.
Even towards the end of the year, G-SHOCK continues to celebrate its 40th anniversary with special watch releases. The latest unveiling spotlights the new GCW-B5000UN Carbon Edition watches, which consist of two references: the GCW-B5000UN-1 and GCW-B5000UN-6.
Modeled after G-SHOCK’s classic DW-5000C models, the new watches boast a lightweight build, composed of carbon fiber-reinforced resin that is durable, all the while weighing only 65 grams. Attention to detail has also been applied to the clasps of the bracelet — its folding arm, as well as clasp cover, is crafted from multilayer and forged carbon, offering enhanced bending strength.
The carbon monocoque case is presented in two colorways that evoke the Milky Way’s hazy band of light, with the GCW-B5000UN-1 arriving in a black and gray look, while the GCW-B5000UN-6 features a galactic palette comprised of blue, pink, and specks of opal. Due to the nature of the material, every example of the references features its own unique color distribution, patterns, and striations.
Retailing for $2,000 USD, the 40th anniversary GCW-B5000UN Carbon Edition watches are now available to purchase via G-SHOCK’s official online store.
