Atelier Wen Collaborates with seconde/seconde/ and Wristcheck for a Limited-Edition Perception Time-Teller
Going by the name of “锔瓷” (jū cí).

Independent horologer, Atelier Wen has revealed the Perception “锔瓷” Special Edition timepiece, its new collaborative model with Wristcheck, and buzzy Paris-based watch modder, seconde/seconde/.
The story of this new release goes back to Atelier Wen and Wristcheck’s first collaboration in 2022. The two had joined hands to produce the Perception “传承” Special Edition, which featured a stunning jade green guilloché dial. From the original 100 pieces that they intended to release, 36 dials were rejected as they were deemed imperfect, albeit only marginally. The idea to repurpose and bring new life to those dials has been by Wristcheck’s CEO and co-founder, Austen Chu’s mind. And so, they linked up with Romaric André aka seconde/seconde/, where the innovative modder could transform the rejected dials into something new, quirky, and coveted.
As a result, the finished timepiece retains the intricately hand-guilloché jade green dial, 40mm stainless steel build, and runs on the custom Dandong SL1588 automatic movement. Appearance-wise, this is perhaps the least second/seconde/-like timepiece to date that André has ever worked on. However, the creative still managed to infuse his signature tongue-in-cheek touches into the intricate timepiece.
Perception “锔瓷” (pronounced jū cí) derives its name from an Ancient Chinese technique of mending cracked Celadon porcelains — a process that’s similar to the Japanese kintsugi method. In between the 3 and 4 o’clock marks are three 24k gold stitch-like crosses that symbolically encapsulate the healing of these once-rejected dials. The stitches are complemented with hour, minute, and central seconds hands composed of 18k gold, while all Atelier Wen branding has been omitted on the dial as a punishing reminder enforced by /seconde/seconde.
Synonymous with Atelier Wen’s usual creations, the caseback features an engraving depicting the Chinese mythical guardian lion, whose mouth serves as a partial window for the co-branded and blued rotor. The semi-display caseback is also marked with “Rejected → ⧖ → Praised” engraving around the lion motif.
Releasing on November 29, 10 a.m. HKT/ November 28, 9 p.m. EST, the Perception “锔瓷” Special Edition will be offered in an ultra-limited run of 36 examples. It will be exclusively available on Wristcheck’s official website for $5,000 USD.
