Y-3 Introduces the GENDO Pro Model and Superstar
The avant-garde-inspired silhouettes utilize a fully hollowed-out TPU plate.

Yohji Yamamoto and adidas first established their collaborative Y-3 line back in 2003. In twenty years, the duo has innovated within the division in both footwear and apparel — producing new silhouettes that have pushed the boundaries of each industry. In continuation of this exploration of the undiscovered, two daring Y-3 GENDO silhouettes have been created. Upgrading both the Pro Model and the Superstar, two colorways of the designs were showcased in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2023 showcase and are now gearing up for release.
Notably, the sneakers abandon the typical structure of a shoe as the TPU plate has been completely hollowed-out on both silhouettes. The Y-3 GENDO Superstar features Yamamoto’s signature at the lateral heel as the traditional Superstar upper shape rests atop the signature GENDO sole unit. The Y-3 GENDO Pro Model accomplishes the same as black and white colorways in leather feature a zip closure instead of traditional laces.
Both the Y-3 GENDO Pro Model and Superstar are currently scheduled to debut on October 21 via adidas, Yohji Yamamoto and select retailers worldwide. The Y-3 GENDO Superstar is priced at $800 USD each while a price for the Y-3 GENDO Pro Model has not yet been disclosed.
