Juice Wrld's Estate and Dr. Luke Sued By Alleged "Not Enough" Co-Writer

The estate of Juice Wrld and Dr. Luke are facing a copyright lawsuit from alleged “Not Enough” contributor, PD Beats (Pierre Orpheus DeJournette). DeJournette claims he was unfairly left out of the 2021 track, and alleges that Dr. Luke (Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald) and the estate of Juice WRLD (Jarad Anthony Higgins) have withheld his profits.

“Defendants have released, marketed, distributed, and monetized the subject song without accrediting or providing PD Beats his proportional share of the revenue,” DeJournette’s lawyers wrote. “Defendants have failed to meaningfully respond, necessitating this action.”

Specifically, DeJournette asserts that he contributed the “original guitar, performance, and production” to the Fighting Demons track, also “writing the beats and programming the 808s,” and ultimately deeming that without his help, “Not Enough” would be “missing key elements that form the basis of the subject song’s audience appeal.”

Additionally, DeJournette is looking to “equally own the copyrights” – he claims himself a co-writer (though doesn’t say on which tracks), and wants a judicial declaration that he is a co-owner, as well as a court-ordered accounting of the song’s revenue.
