Reigning Champ and norda Balance Performance and Craft with New "City to Summit" Collection
A fresh take on the norda 001 plus a concise apparel offering.
Vancouver-based Reigning Champ and Montreal-situated norda are both masters of Canadian minimalism, known for high-quality offerings, technical innovations and keen attention to detail. Those parallels of their respective worlds have been brought together on a new “City to Summit” collection, built to be equally at home on city streets and mountain trails — and made up of a fresh take on the norda 001 sneaker as well as a concise selection of apparel.
The 001 is dressed in a crisp “Heather” color scheme for a nod to Reigning Champ’s signature grey fleece. Its upper is built of norda’s proprietary bio-based Dyneema, a material that’s fifteen times stronger than steel by weight, and also features a heaping helping of Vibram tech like SLE midsole foam, Litebase outsole technology and a Megagrip traction pattern. Co-branded details can be seen on both the heel tab’s embroidered logo lockup and the insole’s text embellishments.
Meanwhile, the collection’s apparel supplies a half-zip midlayer pullover and a running tight both made from Polartec Power Strech Pro fleece, a midweight French terry crewneck with a kangaroo pocket and a short-sleeved T-shirt crafted from jersey cotton. Each piece features a “001” graphic and “City to Summit” hits. Last but not least, there’s a 16-ounce narrow-mouth Nalgene bottle.
