MING Premieres Its Ultralight LW.01 Limited-Edition Model
Available in manual and automatic versions.
MING just revealed the LW.01, its latest time-telling model that is finally ready to be unveiled to the world after years of perfecting. A few years prior, the independent watchmaker took on a challenge to craft – in their words- the world’s most lightweight mechanical wristwatch. The resulting creations are the MING LW.01M (Manual) and LW.01 (Automatic), weighing 8.8 grams and 10.8 grams respectively, sans straps.
Both references are cased in a 38mm wide magnesium alloy watch case, finished with PEO (Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) coating — a much more advanced version of anodizing to enhance the metal’s resistance against wear and corrosion.
Also crafted from PEO-treated AZ31 magnesium alloy, the dial is presented in MING’s signature minimalist aesthetics. Various elements of the dial draws reference from the brand’s former creations, such as the shuriken hour hand from 17.03, the pulse seconds disc from the collaborative Simpleton with ochs und junior, as well as the skeleton peripheral ring from series 19.

As a part of the Special Projects Cave, the LW.01 will be offered in a limited run of 200 examples. Starting October 27, 1 p.m. GMT/ 9 a.m. EDT, the watch will be available for ordering with a price tag of 19,500 CHF (approximately $21,750 USD).
