Breguet Reveals Two New Examples of its Classique Tourbillon 3358

Breguet is expanding its Classique Tourbillon collection with the introduction of two new models, the 3358BB/VD/986D0 and the 3358BR/8D/986D0.

These new timepieces are designed to uphold the brand’s legacy of innovation, established by its founder Abraham-Louis Breguet — notably, the inventor of the tourbillon mechanism which counteracts the effects of gravity on timekeeping precision.

The white gold model, dubbed “Starlit Night” – 3358BB/VD/986D0, encapsulates a celestial realm with its midnight blue mother-of-pearl dial, further enhanced by a cascade of diamonds across the watch face. Accompanying this are gold stars of varying textures, including some that are crowned with a diamond, adding a three-dimensional aspect to the design.

Starlit Night’s dial showcases a classic off-centred chapter ring at 12 o’clock, with Arabic numerals and rhodium-plated gold Breguet hands. A polished, curved aperture at 6 o’clock unveils the tourbillon, crowned with a shooting star-shaped bar set with 45 snow-set diamonds and a blue spinel at its heart. The sapphire case back offers a glimpse into the movement, accentuating the hand-engraved baseplate with Breguet’s name and the unique movement reference number.

As for the rose gold iteration, named “Stunning Sight” – 3358BR/8D/986D0, it is embellished at the dial with 281 diamonds, forming curves between 3 and 9 o’clock. The natural white mother-of-pearl chapter ring at 12 o’clock complements its Arabic numerals and hands. The tourbillon, positioned within a polished oval-shaped aperture, is framed by a rounded gold bar that is set with 14 diamonds.

Both models are housed in a 35 mm case with water resistance up to 30 meters and are powered by the hand-wound 187 D movement, boasting a 50-hour power reserve. The watches’ calibre operates at a frequency of 2.5 Hz and is complemented by a steel Breguet balance spring. Additionally, each watch is paired with a glossy alligator leather strap, midnight blue for the Starlit Night and crimson red for Stunning Sight, adding a final touch of elegance.

The two watches are priced at $136,376 USD and $146,114 USD respectively, available through appointment only via Breguet’s official site.
