Nissan has unveiled a new GT-R concept dubbed the “Hyper Force” which it says is an all-electric supercar that is at the crossroads of performance and sustainability.

Showcased at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, alongside several other EV concepts, the new GT-R is said to be engineered for both racing enthusiasts and eco-conscious consumers, showcasing a blend of performance, advanced tech and environmental responsibility.

At the heart of the Hyper Force is a high-output all-electric powertrain coupled with an optimal-weight-balancing, all-solid-state battery capable of unleashing up to 1,000 kW of power. Nissan shared that this setup ensures rapid acceleration while delivering a powerful downforce, thanks to its advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology. Further enhancing the driving experience is a lightweight body crafted from high-strength carbon, designed to ensure capable handling on both circuits and winding roads.

The exterior design of the Hyper Force reflects its high-performance essence — with sleek curves seamlessly blending with bold geometry. Created in collaboration with the NISMO racing team, the vehicle features a two-tiered structure under the front hood and a dual-level rear diffuser to optimize airflow, alongside other unique active aero functionalities.

Drivers can toggle between two driving modes: “R” for racing and “GT” for grand touring, each offering a distinct experience. In collaboration with Polyphony Digital Inc., an intuitive graphical user interface adapts to the selected mode, ensuring drivers have essential information at their fingertips. The R mode puts drivers in a red-illuminated cockpit focused on performance metrics, while the GT mode transitions to a blue ambiance, prioritizing comfort and a more relaxed drive.

Additional tech includes safety features like LIDAR and enhanced driving experiences through AR and VR capabilities. These are designed to offer a “gamified driving experience, complete with modes that enable racing against the clock or online racers.” Notably, this feature is only available when the vehicle is stopped and is accessed through a special helmet and blind visor.

At the time of writing, the price and availability of the GT-R Hyper Force have yet to be announced, as the vehicle is still in the early concept stages. While you wait for that info, check out the video below for more on the Hyper Force.
