Christopher Ward Debuts a Starry and Tantalizing Moonphase Timepiece
Spotlighting a stripped-back aventurine dial with a large moon.
Christopher Ward just unveiled the C1 Moonphase, its latest time-telling addition to grace its C1 collection.
The allure of this new 40.5mm timepiece lies in its tantalizing aventurine dial, where glass and copper oxide flakes are married to emulate the look of a starry night sky. Due to the technique and materiality, every dial is slightly different, making each piece truly unique on its own.
All hour markings have been omitted, leaving only a sleek handset to indicate the time. Spotlighted on the watch face is a luminous depiction of the moon made from Globolight.
Beating at the heart of the timepiece is the JJ04 caliber, the watchmaker’s very own modular movement to power its perpetual moonphase complication. The caliber can be observed via the transparent caseback, which is now fitted with a box-sapphire crystal, complete with an anti-reflective coating.
The reference retails at $2,475 USD with The ConsortTM bracelet, while the leather strap option has a price point of $2,325. All variations of the C1 Moonphase are now available at Christopher Ward’s official online store.
