Hamilton continues its long-standing relationship with acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan with the release of the Khaki Field Auto “The Odyssey” Limited Edition. Designed in collaboration with the director to celebrate the release of The Odyssey, his latest cinematic epic, this exclusive timepiece translates the mythic storytelling and visual motifs of the movie into a wearable piece of horology.
The watch features a 42mm bronze case that will develop a unique patina over time, paired with a brushed black dial accented by bronze motifs. The cinematic references continue across the black, vertically brushed dial, which lacks traditional numerals to prioritize its narrative-driven design. It features a swirling bronze-hued perimeter pattern inspired by the texture of Odysseus’s helmet, an applied rivet-style index at 12 o’clock echoing a sword scabbard, and distinctive sword-shaped hands treated with Super-LumiNova. To prevent the reactive bronze from resting directly against the skin, Hamilton equipped the watch with a lightweight titanium caseback, which is intricately engraved with the hero’s helmet and Christopher Nolan’s personal signature.
Powering this collaborative timepiece is Hamilton’s robust Caliber H-10 automatic movement. The sophisticated mechanism boasts an impressive 80-hour power reserve and is equipped with a Nivachron balance spring to provide enhanced resistance against magnetic fields and daily temperature fluctuations. Water-resistant up to 100 meters, the watch is fitted with a rugged brown calfskin leather strap featuring prominent central stitching and a titanium pin buckle, bridging the gap between historical aesthetics and modern wearability.
Each piece comes with a collector’s storytelling set, including a replica of Athena’s pin from the film and a plaque signed by Nolan, extending the narrative beyond the watch itself. Limited to just 2,112 pieces worldwide – a nod to the recurring significance of the number 12 in Greek mythology – the watch is now available through Hamilton’s official channels, retailing for 1,195 CHF (approx. $1,478 USD).
