Despite playing a backseat to bigger sportswear heavyweights, such as Nike and adidas, Mizuno has always held a special place for athletes and sneaker enthusiasts over the years. Like many Japanese labels, the Osaka-based brand has paved their own lane by holding craftsmanship and performance as core pillars to its nearly 120 years of success.

With an eye towards the future, Mizuno has revealed a new hybrid model that fuses a classic moccasin shoe with the brand’s signature Wave Prophecy sole unit. The all-black leather upper is complemented by suede accents towards the midsole, along with a glossy heel counter, and interchangeable black and white laces. Additional highlights include a comfortable inner sock liner that hugs the ankle and a rubber outsole that uses “X10”, as the brand refers to it as, which has approximately 80% higher abrasion resistance than regular rubber, improving durability.

Whatever it’s intended use, the Mizuno “Wave Prophecy Moc” will definitely turn heads, while providing needed comfort, stability, and style. The shoe will drop later this month on October 28 for $199 USD at Mizuno and select global retailers.
