Few sneakers have been revisited, recolored and revised as much as the Air Jordan 1. From this season’s GORE-TEX-backed Air Jordan 1 Element to collaborations such as the Chris Paul x Air Jordan 1 Low OG, Jordan Brand continues to iterate upon the beloved silhouette. Looking ahead to the Jumpman team’s plans for next year, it has just revealed its latest creation with the Air Jordan 1 — introducing a platform boot style of the basketball shoe.

Revealed via official imagery, the Air Jordan 1 has been upgraded with a raised collar and significantly-sized sole unit. Its debut colorway looks to a standard triple black finish with the upper constructed with leather. The silhouette’s typical paneling, Swooshes and toe box perforations make a return with an elongated heel tab and tongue suiting the extra-high high-top design. Looking closer at the new sole unit, its rugged approach sees a tread applied to both the midsole and rubber outsole, elevating the wearer’s height multiple inches.

Stay tuned for more info about this platform boot-styling of the Air Jordan 1 as we await official word from Jordan Brand regarding its debut. Currently, it’s expected to launch in January of 2024 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $165 USD in women’s sizing.
