Menulog is Giving Away Exclusive Custom Nike ‘Sushi Sneakers’
Inspired by Katy Perry’s iconic sushi dress.
Food delivery platform Menulog has teamed up with high-end shoe customizer Damian Sim of Bespoke IND to bring to life three exclusive pairs of “Sushi Sneakers” which can be won by playing Menulog Run on TikTok.
Designed by Sim, the “Sushi Sneakers” pay homage to Katy Perry’s iconic sushi dress worn during the 2009 MTV Music Awards Japan, as well as the colorful food paradise in the popstar’s music video for the “Did Somebody Say Menulog” campaign. They feature a salmon maki roll-inspired colorway, complemented with striking rice prints, fishtail loops and even a pair of chopsticks. “We’ve built everything from scratch. The only thing we kept from the original shoe is the midsole,” Sim says about the custom creation process. “We had to experiment with different shades of orange and treatments to create a translucent leather that mimics salmon skin.”
The designs are modeled on the Nike Air Force 1, a perennial favorite for customization and collaborations in the sneaker sphere. “The Nike Air Force 1 is the most classic sneaker that ever existed since it came out in 1982,” Sim explains. “Katy Perry has been seen in Air Force 1 shoes, and the triple white Air Force 1s are such a staple.”
To stand a chance to win the custom “Sushi Sneakers”, participants simply have to play Menulog Run on TikTok. In the game, you move your head from side to side in order to dodge bins and collect various food items like pizzas, subs, ice cream sundaes and sushi as your delivery character races through the colorful Menulog world. Once you’ve completed the game, post the recording for your chance to win.
In addition to the “Sushi Sneakers”, the winner will also nab a year’s worth of free sushi courtesy of Menulog. All you have to do is #MenulogRun now. Terms and conditions apply.
