Maison Kitsuné Wants to "Explore Everywhere" for SS23
The Paris-meets-Tokyo brand will stage the upcoming season’s campaigns in three otherworldly destinations.
For Spring/Summer 2023, Maison Kitsuné will showcase its collection in a three-part campaign, titled “Explore Everywhere.” In three destinations — an imagined utopia, the great outdoors and a dreamt-up cityscape — the label will let fashion fans into its universe from January through June. Today, enter the first stop: Elsewhere.
In kaleidoscopic paradise, the Maison dresses a group of friends who blissfully explore an uncharted world defined by warped perspectives and organic shapes. “Immersed in the suspended reality of an otherworldly dreamscape, they are dressed in designs which adapt to and mirror their liberated ease,” the brand writes of its collection. Photographed by Remi Ferrante, the posse appears ready for an enchanted rave.
The range is daring, with bold color blocking, sharp tailoring and extroverted prints captivating most of the attention. Against their surrealist backdrop, the designs let imagination and self-expression bubble to the fore. High-end fabrics meet technical materials for pieces that place priority on quality — and there’s always room for something uniquely Maison Kitsuné. French shirts are cut with Japanese kimono sleeves, in a convergence of global design codes; and the brand’s fox iconography reminds onlookers of each iteration’s roots.
Maison Kitsuné’s SS23 collection will be available to shop on the brand’s website, at Maison Kitsuné boutiques and at select retailers beginning January 18. Peruse the campaign’s first destination above.
