visvim SS23 Lets Playful Patterns and Progressive Patchwork Do the Talking
Loosely-tailored, warm-weather statements.
Japanese menswear brand visvim has returned with its Spring/Summer 2023 lookbook, following its prep-injected Fall/Winter 2022 imagery with a series of relaxed, well-tailored essentials, progressive treatments and striking prints.
Spanning visvim signatures and new styles alike, the Spring/Summer 2023 collection is filled with double-take-worthy silhouettes. At large, the range is unafraid of color, with button-down shirts making capital-letter statements, and leather coats beaming in bright tones. Bottoms remain largely muted, though, often gravitating toward khaki, grey and black hues, with the exception of cheetah-printed shorts that remind onlookers of the label’s penchant for the playful.
Notable pieces include the Copa Shirt, which dons mismatched brown and orange paneling in jacquard, and the Crosby Shirt, which fronts an all-over bird motif. The Douglas Stadium Jacket exudes a vintage, collegiate feel, with red leather and varsity-inspired cuffs, while the Kora Down Vest transforms a blanket into clothing. For the bold, a T-shirt warns to “Buckle Up” under a chaotic cowboy illustration, and the Kerchief Down Jacket takes a no-holds-barred approach to patchwork.
