Penfolds Welcomes the Year of the Rabbit With a Decadent ‘Baby Grange’
Featuring notes of fruit and oak.
Penfolds is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with a decadent new bottle of wine. The rabbit represents courage and prosperity, and this latest release from Penfolds makes for a unique and memorable Lunar New Year’s gift for those born in the years 1999, 1987, 1975 and so on.
For 2023, the Australian winemaker debuted a Bin 389, which is often fondly called “Baby Grange” as the wine is matured in the same barrels that previously housed other vintage variations of Grange. The particular wine is from 2020, building on the vintage flavors of years past.
Penfolds explains that the Baby Grange integrates the flavor structure of cabernet sauvignon into a richness unique to a shiraz. Those who taste the wine will note a delicate balance between fruit and oak tones, making for a layered, luxurious drinking experience.
The name Bin 389 also carries a unique meaning — 3 symbolizes new beginnings, 8 symbolizes prosperity and 9 symbolizes longevity.
Those interested in owning a bottle of Penfolds’ Bin 389 can join a waitlist now.
