LeBron James has just unveiled a new collaborative Liverpool F.C. football jersey, marking the latest move in one of the sport’s biggest crossovers of the current era.

The LA Lakers star has been an owner of a minority stake in Liverpool since 2011 and since signing the contract, the hooper has stepped out in various special Nike sneaker iterations and colorways. With this in mind, James has just unveiled a brand-new LeBron 20 “Liverpool” sneaker, but last night — photographed at the Crypto.com Arena — the basketball star was all about his new jersey, partnering it with another footwear collaboration: a slightly modified version of the the Air Max 1 “Liverpool.”

Fashion picks from basketball players are a talking point for all fans when ballers are captured walking through the tunnel on the way to the court, and what they wear when arriving at matches often garners a lot of attention. “Tunnel fits” tend to outline the current, or future trends of everyday fashion, so by stunting in the new LFC jersey before a Lakers game, it has laid down a bigger statement than any conventional advertisement could have.

The Nike Liverpool x LeBron James jersey is coated in a predominantly black hue, while red logos and subtle stripe patterns — that feature Liverpool’s iconic “You’ll Never Walk Alone” slogan — sit atop. Furthermore, matching red pinstripes complement the color of the club logo and Nike sponsor and James puts his own spin on the design with his brand logo across the chest.

Due to the official AXA logo not being featured on the new jersey, it’s almost certain that the kit will not be worn in any official matches, however, it could be seen IRL on Liverpool ballers during pre-match warm-ups.
