Earlier this month, it was announced that Ken Block, the 55-year-old professional rally driver and co-founder of Hoonigan and DC Shoes, was killed in a tragic snowmobile accident near his ranch in Utah. The news sent shockwaves across the motorsports and extreme sports community he helped shape as well as the millions he’s inspired throughout the years with his Gymkhana YouTube videos and other high-octane content.

Celebrating his life and legacy, the Hoonigan team breaks radio silence with a moving compilation video recounting some of the highlights of Block’s storied career, showing clips of his times as a rally driver, behind-the-scenes footage, and stunts across skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. The video ends with words to live by from Block himself.

“I guess my only legacy would be that I like creative stuff and I like fun stuff you know and I don’t take life too series. At the end of the day I try to inspire people to be creative and live a fun life — and don’t be an asshole (laughs),” says Block.

The team also offers an update on their current situation, announcing that they’ll be pressing the pause button on new content, but will be releasing old footage in the coming weeks. Block’s family has established a foundation titled 43 Institute to honor his memory and spirit, and the #43 will be retired from the World Rally Championship for the 2023 season in his honor. Looking forward, Hoonigan also plans to host an in-person event sometime in February.

Take a look at the full tribute video and update from Hoonigan above.
