Tiago Lemos and New Balance Numeric Present the 808 Skate Shoe
Lemos’ second signature model, the 808 combines ’90s styling with modern-day skate tech.
Pro skater Tiago Lemos has received his second pro model with New Balance’s skate-geared Numeric line: the 808. Boasting the chunky construction and bold branding of ’90s skate shoes but mixing it with New Balance Numeric’s finest skate tech, the 808 is a blend of past, present and future that was made to withstand Lemos’ forceful on-board style.
A full-length ABZORB midsole — the same foam compound used in popular models like the 990v2 and 991 — is at the heart of the 808. Numeric’s iteration of ABZORB is specifically tuned for the high-impact movements of street skating, so it both provides impact protection and pop-boosting responsiveness. There’s also a Ndurance outsole, made of an extra-tough rubber compound, and a re-designed internal heel pod made with input from Lemos that upgrades lockdown. From a colorway standpoint, the 808 has debuted in a mixture of white, grey and navy with just a hit of pink, offering a bit of the bright running flair found on the high-speed running shoes that make up New Balance’s other 800 series models.
Tiago Lemos’ New Balance Numeric 808 is available now via the New Balance webstore and is priced at $109.99. More colorways are set to drop in the coming months as well.
