'Sonic Frontiers' Overview Trailer Explains Premise of the Game

Sonic Frontiers has now released an overview trailer giving fans of the franchise a better understanding of the premise of the game. As the new clip explains, Sonic finds himself waking up in a mysterious land called Cyber Space, separated from his friends. Luckily, he manages to escape and arrives on the Starfall Islands, where he runs into a series of mysterious ruins and strange inhabitants. His task will be to find his lost friends and figure out what’s going on on these islands.

On top of explaining the premise of the new experience, the overview trailer also goes through how the rest of the game will play, including its “open-zone” style that’ll allow players to choose the order in which they tackle different missions and tasks. As usual, there’ll be plenty of weird and fantastical enemies to confront as well as complex puzzles to solve as you work your way through the islands. Solving them will give you access to stronger items and gear that’ll prepare you for the bigger fights down the line.

As you progress further, you’ll be able to access various Cyber Space Portals that bring you into a new level full of challenges. The game will reward you with Vault Keys when you complete these challenges, allowing you to unlock even stronger gear.

For those interested, Sonic Frontiers will arrive on November 8 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
