LG has unveiled its stylish, high-tech MoodUp refrigerator, designed to give its users the power to elevate and personalize their home kitchen space. Adding to the company’s recently-launched Objet Collection of designer home appliances, the fridge was showcased at the IFA 2022.

The fridge comes outfitted with LED door panels, and users can separately change the color of both the upper and lower panels on LG’s ThinkQ app, instantly giving their kitchen a new look. There’s also the option to customize the panels according to themes such as “Season,” “Place,” “Mood” and “Pop.” “Season,” for example, displays a rotating color palette that matches the current time of year, while “Mood” emits soft, comforting colors.

Other features integrated into MoodUp include a built-in Bluetooth speaker, which can be connected to a smartphone, tablet or computer. Users can opt to match the fridge’s colorway with their music. Moreso, when the Bluetooth speaker is playing music, the panels will flash in sync with the track’s beat.

The incorporation of AI allows for WiFi connectivity, as well as voice recognition. If a user forgets to close the fridge door, a built-in sensor will cause the door panels to blink, notifying the user and saving on energy. During the nighttime, the freezer door will glow to allow its user to see in the dark.

The MoodUp fridge is available in “Lux Grey” and “Lux White” shades for when the LED panels are turned off. LG hasn’t yet revealed when the fridge will launch to the public or how much it’ll cost.
