Haider Ackermann Announces New Collaboration With FILA
Debuting in Manchester later this year.

Haider Ackermann has taken to his Instagram to announce that he will be designing one-off menswear, womenswear and accessories collaborative collection with sportswear giant FILA.
In his post, Ackermann expressed his “surprise” when FILA tapped him to design the next collaboration. He also took the opportunity to announce that he will be debuting the collection with a fashion show held in Manchester, U.K. In an email to Business of Fashion, Ackermann explained why he chose to show the collection in Manchester, “Manchester has an intriguing mix of colliding cultures. It is a place where we hear the voices of the youth — the wave they create in sports, music and literature. And I wanted to focus on this unique point of view.”
The partnership with Haider Ackermann is FILA’s latest move to elevate its brand and return to pre-pandemic revenues. In 2021, the Seoul-based parent company that owns both the Korean and U.S. FILA entities reported that the company hit $2.8 billion USD in revenue with a net income of $245 million USD. Earlier this year, FILA announced a five-year strategic plan that aims to get the brand revenue to surpass $3.2 billion USD by 2026, hoping to strengthen both its sports performance and lifestyle categories with investments in R&D, and direct-to-consumer- sales.
FILA is no stranger to collaborations, previously working with Y/Project to celebrate 110 years, as well as with Roksanda, Brandon Maxwell, and industry-renowned stylist Katie Grand. In a statement regarding FILA’s upcoming collaboration, chairman Gene Yoon said, “I’ve always admired Haider Ackermann’s creativity,” noting that the collection will represent “the latest evolution of FILA to be at the forefront in sports, style and fashion.”
The Haider Ackermann x FILA collaboration will make its debut on the runway in Manchester on November 17.
