Devin Booker Auctions His Iconic Game Worn Nike Kobe 4 Protro Sneakers

The 2021-22 NBA season saw the Phoenix Suns defeat the LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers to cement themselves as the Western Conference Champions, before ascending to the Finals that year. This was the same year, star shooter Devin Booker made his NBA playoffs debut, which saw the young player finish the playoffs with 601 points.
Throughout the playoffs, Booker had a constant lucky charm. He wore his one-of-a-kind purple Nike Kobe 4 Protro sneakers in honor of the Black Mamba himself. The iconic pair was seen on the feet of the Suns’ shooter in various games throughout the season, which quickly became synonymous with Booker. In collaboration with Shopify, Booker is giving fans a chance to own a piece of his personal memorabilia, auctioning off this exact pair. He wore the Nike shoes to close out the Lakers in Game 6 in the first round of the 2021 Western Conference playoffs, scoring his first triple-double against the LA Clippers and as well as throughout the NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Heavily influenced by his close relationship with the late Kobe Bryant, the shoe features Booker’s own handwritten tributes to his mentor. The right sneaker features a handwritten message, “Be Legendary,” a piece of advice given to Booker by Bryant himself, as well as his own signature and the #1. The shoe also features the handwritten stat, “Close Out vs. LAL, 47 pts 11r 3a,” as a reminder of one of his biggest milestones. The left sneaker features the messages, “Be Legendary,” #mambamentality, his signature and #1 and the date “6/3/21” written. The shoe is in size 14.5 and arrives with a yellow Nike Air box with a clear plastic Phoenix Suns bag and printed tissue paper that reads, “1. Philadelphia 2. Toronto 3. Vancouver 4. Milwaukee 5. Minnesota 6. Boston 7. Los Angeles 8. New Jersey 9. Dallas 10. Indiana 11. Oakland 12. Cleveland 13. Charlotte.”
