Designed by Yusuke Takahashi – formerly of ISSEY MIYAKE MEN – the new collection from Clothing For Contemporary Life (CFCL) presented a range of volumes for Spring/Summer 2023.

Marked as “Vol. 5” for the brand, the new collection centered around the color blue and contrasting proportions (extended, inflated and circular), with an angular floorspace painted blue and covered with blown glass objects. Additionally, blue separates including billowing pants and ruched tops were strewn throughout the clothing presentation to further emphasize the cobalt theme.

Intricate knitwear in the form of button-down cardigans, sleeveless sheaths, turtlenecks and skirts were the highlights of the collection, while domed top hats and angular boots supported the ready-to-wear ensembles.

Since Takahashi’s 2020 formation of the brand, CFCL has gone on to win this year’s Tokyo Fashion Prize and has garnered attention and acclaim from buyers and consumers as a promising brand to watch.
