Watch Benny Blanco Deep Fry His Rolex Datejust
An unusual way to treat his gift from Ed Sheeran.
Known in the world of food for his Matty And Benny Eat Out America show with Matty Matheson, record producer Benny Blanco teamed up with social media food figure Lynja of @cookingwithlynja to make something rather interesting. In an unexpected turn of events, the duo deep fry the gold Rolex Datejust watch Blanco is seen wearing on his wrist.
Initially apprehensive, Blanco shares that the $16,500 USD watch was gifted to him by Ed Sheeran, ultimately giving in after an initial struggle. The watch is dipped in an egg wash before being crusted in seasoned breadcrumbs and deep fried. After a dousing of lemon juice and a dip in some tomato sauce, Blanco tries to take a bite out of the watch, spitting out what he was able to get a hold of.
Incredibly, Lynja notes that the watch subjected to deep frying in oil is still working normally, proclaiming that it is a “good watch.”
