Y-3 Explores Textural Prints for Chapter 4 Collection "Memories of Exotics"

Following the launch of its Chapter 3 Fall/Winter 2022 collection “Memories of Orange” in July, Y-3 has returned with the fourth and final installment of its “20 Years: Recoded” narrative, dubbed “Memories of Exotics.” The thematic, concluding collection honors the label’s penchant for head-turning prints, with a reimagined series of classic silhouettes by adidas and Yohji Yamamoto.

Delving into the year-long theme of collective memory, Chapter 4 highlights Yamamoto’s rebellious approach to design, calling on a legacy of animal prints and distorting signature iconography through a myriad of all-over graphics. Among the range, leopard prints land on expressive fabrics in subdued tones, and functionally resides at the forefront of the line’s dynamic, sporting ethos. For footwear, “Memories of Exotics” facilitates earthy makeovers for a sizable lineup, including the Y-3 TERREX SWIFT R3 GTX, the Y-3 ULTRABOOST 22, the Y-3 RUNNER 4D, the Y-3 QASA and the Y-3 MAKURA.

Chapter 4 arrives in tandem with a striking campaign, shot by Heji Shin with creative direction from Jamie Reid and styling from Robbie Spencer. Through an artful lens, the sartorial imagery plays into the collection’s daring, heritage-turned-progressive design codes with an innate interpretation of Y-3’s past, present and future.

Y-3’s Fall/Winter 2022 Chapter 4 collection will become available between September 1 and October 15 via Y-3’s webstore, adidas CONFIRMED and in stores globally.
