Tesla has announced another price hike for its Full Self-Driving package, marking the second increase in 2022 alone. Back in January, the automaker brought the price tag for its FSD software up to $12,000 USD, and now company CEO Elon Musk revealed on Twitter that following the wide release of its Beta 10.69.2, prices will increase all the way to $15,000 USD starting on September 5.

While a $3,000 USD hike is significant, the new price is actually almost double the FSD’s launch price back in 2020, when it went for just $8,000 USD. The increase in cost for FSD also comes just shortly after Tesla announced its vehicles will also be seeing higher price tags. Back in June, the automaker announced new prices for all four of its current models, with the Model X seeing the steepest hike of $6,000 USD. The company didn’t provide any reasons publicly for the increase in charges at the time, but industry analysts expect it to be due to inflation for both materials and logistics costs.

Elsewhere in the automotive industry, Brabus has unveiled its all-electric smart #1 performance vehicle.
