Tattoo Artist TAPPEI Joins MADSTORE UNDERCOVER for Latest Capsule
Including one-of-a-kind items and three types of t-shirts.
Jun Takahashi’s various UNDERCOVER labels have an extensive history in collaboration. Now, diffusion label MADSTORE UNDERCOVER has connected with Japanese tattoo and graphic artist TAPPEI for a collaborative capsule that includes one-off pieces and three new t-shirt designs.
These one-of-a-kind pieces are based on used garments with various illustrations and hand embroideries breathing new life into the products. Beyond tapping into classic UNDERCOVER motifs with these items, three t-shirt designs in black and white are covered in additional references via TAPPEI’s iconic art style. First, the classic UNDERCOVER bears are outfitted in TAPPEI’s flower-filled drawing. Next, a longsleeve tee carries a vivid scenery which includes the classic “U” logo and “WE MAKE NOISE NOT CLOTHES” slogan. A wide tee rounds out the capsule with “MAD” text on the front and concentric circles reading “MAD” resting below a rose.
TAPPEI x MADSTORE UNDERCOVER one-of-a-kind items are available now exclusively via MADSTORE UNDERCOVER Laforet Harajuku and Shinsaibashi Parco, priced between ¥26,400 JPY (approx. $198 USD) and ¥57,200 JPY (approx. $430 USD). Beyond that, the three types of t-shirts are available now via MADSTORE UNDERCOVER shops and online via UNDERCOVER, ZOZO and Rakuten Fashion, priced at a range of ¥13,860 JPY (approx. $104 USD) to ¥19,057 JPY (approx. $143 USD).
