Takahiro Miyashita’s eponymous label, TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist., continues its hot streak of collaborations by teaming up with Medicom Toy’s iconic BE@RBRICK line. This partnership with BE@RBRICK follows works with British photographer Jonathan Worth and American headwear brand New Era. Drawing inspiration from TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist.’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show titled “PAUSE=PLAY,” 100%, 400% and 1000% BE@RBRICK figures are to be released.

The familiar BE@RBRICK shape returns, this time carrying key references to Miyashita’s works in this collaborative release. Beginning at the body, its base is found in black while a soft brown covers the head, referencing the paper bags worn over model’s heads during Miyashita’s SS22 runway show. Black ears round out the base colors in use. Key collaborative detailing is expanded on with “Listen To The Soloist” text covering the figure’s face next to red circles, symbolizing the text and holes found on the aforementioned paper bags. Look twelve from the runway show connects with the red graphic on the chest, pulling from photographer Joseph Szabo’s “Priscilla, 1969.” Various text and graphics referencing TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. and its “PAUSE=PLAY” collection are found on the lateral of the left leg, back and back of the head to complete this release.

Release for the TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist. x BE@RBRICK collaboration takes places August 12 via TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist., Medicom Toy and select retailers. The 400% and 100% set is priced at ¥14,300 JPY (approx. $108 USD) while the 1000% will be available for ¥55,000 JPY (approx. $413 USD).
