Sony Reportedly Developing 'Gravity Rush' Film With Ridley Scott's Production Banner
Just one of the many movie adaptations PlayStation is currently working on.
Just a day after reports surfaced suggesting that Sony is turning the PlayStation’s Days Gone into a film with the help of X-Men: First Class writer Sheldon Turner, the company is now rumored to also be working on a movie based on Gravity Rush. For those unfamiliar, the game was originally launched on the PlayStation Vita back in 2012 and featured Kat, an amnesiac who wielded the power to manipulate gravity to her advantage as she journeyed through an open world called Hekseville, confronting various monsters in order to protect the people of the land. A remaster was subsequently released for the PlayStation 4 in 2015 followed by a sequel on the same platform in 2017.
Sony hasn’t announced the project officially yet, but Deadline reports that Ridley Scott‘s production banner Scott Free Productions will be handling the adaptation, with Panopticon‘s Emily Jerome joining as writer and Secret Society of Second Born Royals‘ Anna Mastro serving as director. Other details remain scarce at the moment, so fans of the original games should stay tuned for more updates to come.
