Take a Closer Look at the Awake NY x ASICS GEL-LYTE III
Arriving in four new colorways.
Continuing a partnership that stretches back to 2019, Angelo Baque‘s Awake NY and ASICS join forces once again to rework the classic GEL-LYTE III silhouette in four new colorways. Released as a running shoe in the early ’90s, the GEL-LYTE III has now been revised in bright and youthful colors, serving as bold lifestyle sneakers.
The upcoming pairs are found predominately in mesh, leather, and suede uppers with transparent Onitsuka Tiger stripes running across the sides and Awake NY branding decorating the lateral heel. Elevating the pairs are wavy foam midsoles and two-tone rubber outsoles. A special black/silver iteration incorporates elephant prints across its gloss leather exterior panels. Rounding out the collaboration is a range of co-branded sweaters and sweatpants featuring “Sound Mind, Sound Body” sleeve text.
The Awake NY x ASICS GEL-LYTE III launches online on August 19 at 11 a.m. EDT with the black/silver colorway seeing a wider release at Foot Locker August 23.
