ASICS Debuts the "GEL-SPOTLYTE LOW V2"
’80s music-inspired lifestyle sneakers.

As ASICS prepares to drop its collaborations with JJJJound and Awake NY, the Japanese sportswear giant introduces the new “GEL-SPOTLYTE LOW V2” silhouette. The lifestyle pairs take design cues from retro basketball sneakers, featuring a mix of leather and PU mesh uppers with a velcro strap found across the forefoot displaying “Sound Mind, Sound Body” text.
The four colorways are said to be inspired by the new wave records from the ’80s — the era of Joy Division and A-ha — featuring retro hues of blue/white, blue/black, orange/silver, and white/green. Detachable luggage tags are attached to the laces out of the box and pre-yellowed GEL cushion midsoles and traction outsoles round out the look.
The ASICS GEL-SPOTLYTE LOW V2 is set to release first in Asia August 20 for ¥790 RMB (approximately $116 USD) ahead of its international release.
Elsewhere in footwear, Nike Dresses the Air Presto and Air Max 270 in “Triple Pink.”
