With its October release date soon approaching, Activision and Infinity Ward have finally announced the open beta dates for the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Taking place over two weekends in September, gamers will be able to access the title earlier and for longer if they’re on the PlayStation platform, which doesn’t come as a surprise given the publisher’s previous deals with Sony Interactive Entertainment.

For both PS4 and PS5 users who have pre-ordered the game already or received a special beta code, you’ll be able to try out the game from September 16 to September 20. All other PlayStation players will be able to join in on the open beta experience from September 18 onwards.

The second weekend then comes on September 22 through September 26, and this time round PS4 and PS5 users will be able to play through the entire weekend regardless of pre-order statuses. Xbox and PC players on the other hand will need to have pre-ordered the game for early access on September 22, with the rest of the players joining in on open beta on September 24. From the second week on, cross-play will also be enabled. To learn more about the beta dates, you can head over to Infinity Ward’s website.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will officially launch October 28.

Elsewhere in gaming, Riot Games has confirmed that the upcoming League of Legends spin-off fighting game will be free-to-play.
