Paris Saint-Germain Debuts Special Away Kits Designed by VERDY
Worn in their match against Kawasaki Frontale in Tokyo.
On Wednesday night, Paris Saint-Germain matched up against J1 League team Kawasaki Frontale for a friendly match at Japan National Stadium in Tokyo. PSG secured a narrow 2-1 victory against the Japanese football club with goals from Leo Messi and Arnaud Kalimuendo. As PSG put on a showcase in front of a crowd of 65,000 spectators, they walked out with a noticeably different away kit designed by graphic artist VERDY and produced by Jordan Brand.
Player names were found in a distinct curled typeface and VERDY’s signature Vick character accompanied the back numbers. As PSG continues its Japan Tour, a pop-up has appeared at EDIFICE Shinjuku offering a special collection of T-shirts, hoodies, caps bandanas and accessories designed by VERDY as well as select pieces from leading Japanese artist Makoto Yamaki. A special poster has also been designed by NIGO to kick off the tour. Following their match with Kawasaki Frontale, PSG are set to play against the Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka later this month.
