For Nike, 2022 serves as a year of fond memories. As the sportswear giant completes its 50th year of business, an array of old-school releases are making a return. One returning silhouette that is taking fans back to 2004 is the LeBron 2. Now, after Nike has shared images of the upcoming release of the “Maccabi” PE, the LeBron 2’s “USA” colorway has now been officially unveiled as a re-release. Teased earlier this year, the pair was worn by King James during the 2004 Olympics.

His home country of the USA’s red, white and blue is referenced with the “USA” colorway’s “White/Midnight Navy-Varsity Crimson.” This shade of navy works its way onto the ballistic mesh base, leather tongue, branding and full-length Zoom Air unit. Meanwhile, “Varsity Crimson” makes an appearance as an accent color, landing on various branding elements while white leather overlays dominate the upper, completing this throwback look.

An exact release date has not yet been announced by the Swoosh. However, expect the Nike LeBron 2 “USA” to make its return this September via Nike and select retailers.

In other footwear news, another relic from 2004, the Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp,” is set to makes its return in 2022.
